"Electronics 01 2024.02.12": Essentially, this project has been in progress for 48 years (1976-2024) starting with when I built a function generator from a kit for use as an electronic musical instrument.  Culling from these 48 years of recordings I picked 88 semi-representative pieces to make samples from.  That, alone was a process that dragged on for something like 6 years.  Then I made a 'demo' movie of each of these samples being played for 30 seconds apiece.  That movie, called "Electronics" (the 2nd movie of mine to be so-named), included footage of me at the sampler being played + added relevant imagery & text.  

THIS movie is of my 1st realization of a playing of the samples (& other available prefabricated sampler sounds) for the same duration as the 'demo' Electronics movie.  The edit includes the 'demo' movie (silent) + 7 different camera angles of the playing + the 'score' (meaning the keyboard map that I made that tells me which sample is played by which key).  For both the 'demo' & realization 01, I used some newly purchased 4K camcorder knock-offs of GoPros.  The price is definitely right with these cameras & there's plenty to be said in their favor.  Alas, one of their downsides is that even though they're identical they don't record at a steady pace so that instead of staying together they become quickly out-of-sync, making editing, at least the way I do it, extremely difficult.  Furthermore, at least one of the camcorders produces the occcasional 'black-out' where, instead of imagery, there's just a black frame.  

Working with the extreme lack of sync led to my eventually accepting the occasional disjunctiveness & playing with it somewhat as an editing strategy.  Those 5 camcorders are new so I'm still learning them.  The Korg Kronos sampler is now 3.5 years old but I barely know how to use that either.  Add 2 other camcorders + the score image + the 'demo' movie & it all got very tricky.  This being the 1st realization I'm expecting to iron out some of the wrinkles in later manifestations.  Initially, I was so disatisfied with it that I wasn't going to put it online - but I've witnessed it twice now & find it to have the usual nerdy twistiness that I aim for so here it is.  As usual, the type of person that this might interest will probably be someone with a heavy mental investment in things most people could give a shit about,  So be it.
